covering buttons

As you probably noticed I love buttons! I've bought new, found some at thrift stores, and been given some. The thing I'm really getting into is making them! I actually bought some hand made buttons on Etsy and really liked them. So much so that it inspired me to start making more of my own covered buttons. It is kind of tricky to make sure the print is placed correctly since your putting it together upside down, and to have the fabric not pucker on the sides. Anyway here are a few I've made...

Updated Clutch

Over the past few weeks I've gotten some feedback on my clutches. Over all consciences... some people prefer to have a strap. Which would, surprising as it might sound, defeats the purpose of a clutch. So after thinking about how to answer this problem here's what I came up with... A small hidden wristlette (If that makes any sense). This way it can be pulled out but doesn't interrupt the integrity or shape of the purse. Its currently on the market so we'll see what the response is. I'm was happy with it, for it turned out better than I expected.

now for sale

Even though it's been two weeks its still new News...My handbags are officially on sale at another location! I have two exclusive designs for sale at Cobblestone Cafe in Waynesville. ( http://www.cobblestonevillageandcafe.com/ ) I can't tell you how excited I am about it. Currently there are six different handbags in each of the two styles. There all displayed together, kind of like a collection, in the retail side of the store!
Since the order for the purses down there started, I've been experimenting with doing more of a series type design. I'm basically concentrating on one main fabric, then trying to make two totally different purses from that. There are two series I've done so far this way and love it. It really just adds in a whole new challenge when picking out of fabric and the design for the bag. Which is my favorite part. It's a great way to have similar handbags with out have the same one. And of course you can always just work with me on picking out fabrics so its even more tailor made. Here are the series and hang tags I've made...

I'm headed down to Flordia and Nashville...for sure to see the sun but I'm also excited to check out boutiques. Plus I sure the beach will be inspiring so there should be new designs to come soon! That being said please check back with here and on Etsy for some things up and coming. I can't wait!
